Introduction to Maps


People have been making maps for thousands of years, but they did not always look like maps that we use today. Most modern maps show information about land, such as where hills, valleys, roads, and buildings are located, but there are many types of maps that show different sorts of information. For example, many of the maps made hundreds of years ago were made to show the stars and groups of stars, called constellations.
